The miraculous week of the “training of trainers” workshop brought KL-Youth Exchange and study alumni from around the world on one platform. Alumni from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Liberia, Pakistan and Thailand participated in the 11th training of trainer’s workshop held in Bangkok, Thailand from 16th to 22nd December, 2013.

The workshop is a foundation course on how to give effective learning experiences and building basic blocks on what defines good training. It is a platform for the alumni to sharpen their expertise as trainers and take back core skills as tools to facilitate the community back home. The design of the training helped the students go through the problems that their communities are facing and by the end of the training be able to outline and implement their own training sessions.

The training introduced numerous unique methodologies to create efficient trainings for instance games, mentoring, panel discussions, writing, skits, reports, projects, process mapping/flowcharts and many more. Along with these some of the activities like the quilt square, multiple intelligence game, blind fold, popcorn brainstorm, zoom book, tower game etc brought outstanding learning environment for the alumni. This training is not only about learning to create trainings but also a technique to discover more about your own self.
The Cultural Outing Day!

It’s amazing how much the alumni learned about numerous things just within a week. Utterly, the trainers’ efforts had a great contribution over the success of the training. Their hard work and efforts truly played a tremendous part in making the week an immense accomplishment and of course the AFS Thailand had a massive role in the success of the week.

With anticipation, each alumnus will now be able to create their own flourishing trainings with in their communities and be the motives of change. It is beyond the imagination that how the alumni met like strangers on the first day of the training but by the end of the training, everyone left like best friends. All the people connected with TOT turned into a family that will always be connected through networking.

With a great appreciation, I would thank the US State department, AFS Thailand, American Councils, iEARN, YES program, the wonderful trainers and amazing alumni!
